My hand drawn rendering of Head of a Young Man is made with silverpoint stylus on specially prepared paper. Seawhite heavy weight paper, acid free, cartridge paper (220gsm). Covered with two coats of Gesso ground,
Inspired by the Renaissance artist Andrea del Verrocchio a sculptor and painter who taught Leonardo da Vinci to paint. The young man is looking up as if observing the heavens. Silverpoint was much in demand for portrait drawings from the 15th into the 17th century; revived in the 18th-century Romantic era, it was also used by modern artists like Otto Dix.
