There is nothing more inspiring than a man who helps you to experience self-realisation, and this man did that for me, he touched a nerve. He was brave, courageous and strong in all matters of his life. Theodore Roosevelt referred to as Teddy, was an American politician, statesman, solider and the 26th president of the United States of America, from 1901 to 1909. He was the winner of Nobel Peace Prize and recipient of the Medal of Honour.
The Teddy's Bear was invented in honour of President Roosevelt after a bear hunting trip in 1902 where he refused to kill a black bear. After much satire in the Washington Post, Morris Michtom a candy shop owner, saw the cartoon and he and his wife decided to create a stuffed toy bear and dedicate it to the president who refused to shoot a bear, he called it 'Teddy's Bear'.
As a child he was diagnosed with poliomyelitis, and relied on a wheelchair and leg braces for mobility.
