My hand drawn rendering of Hidalgo Moya (1863-1927) an American-Spanish engineer. An Inventor and founder of the Moya Typewriter Company, which became the Imperial Typewriter Company in the UK. The legacy of great inventors is usually no more than the machines they designed however, Hidalgo Moya offers a rare chance to look a little further than that. He had not been just a typewriter and a hot-air balloon inventor but also a violin maker. There was clearly an artistic streak in his blood, and the creative genes appeared to have been passed on to his children who went on to create brilliant careers.
