My hand drawn rendering of Voltaire is made with graphite pencil on heavy weight Frisk Bristol Board Paper, 250gsm. Ready to hang, all hanging hardware is included.
Voltaire was a major figure in the Enlightenment, a writer, historian and philosopher, renowned for his advocacy of freedom of religion, freedom of speech, tolerance and the separation of church and state. He admired Britain's constitutional monarchy and its greater respect for liberty and free speech. His ideas led to the French Revolution, the United States Bill of Rights, and the decrease in the power of the Catholic Church, he denounced religious fanaticism of all types, which have all affected modern western society, and are relevant today.
